Johnny Cass is an experienced musician who has been playing music for audiences for 20 years. Johnny Cass has played alongside some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, Paul Weller, Diesel, Tony Joe White, Jeff Lang, The Backsliders, Chris Wilson, Don Walker, Baby Animals.
Johnny digs deep into the Roots and Blues genre to deliver honest and heartfelt music that matters. He plays music that encompasses all the best elements of Folk and Country Blues such as twanging banjo, mandolin and acoustic steel guitars, big booming bass and drums, lonely and lazy slide guitar. JC’s interpretations of blues standards are reminiscent of recordings of Chess Records artists such as Muddy Waters & Howlin’ Wolf. The desperation and darkness of Robert Johnson is resurrected and revered with new takes on old songs.

What a great birthday present. Waking up today and the feeling of doing a great gig the night before is what any musician would be happy with. The first show with Coolhand and The Chiefs was amazing and exceeded my expectations. The new possibilities that sprouted from that jam was inspiring and encouraging. With some new players added to the list makes this band's talent pool exceedingly deep. 3 part harmonies, and a band that can play any groove in any genre, what a canvas. John Wardle on guitar and backing vocals was amazing. JW's guitar playing sat perfectly in the groove with some real tasty parts reminding me of The Band and Little Feat. Then Roddy Reason chiming with some amazing vocal parts. Roddy is an amazing songwriter and musician in his own right so to have him play in this band is a major score.
Coolhand and the Chiefs have added to the family. Stan Mobbs is now playing double bass. Stan played bass for many years with pioneers of the Sydney blues scene Foreday Riders. Coolhand and The Chiefs rhythm section is now SYD and STAN. It doesn't get much more English than that. We could be the new additions to the British Blues invasion.
So me and the boys are going to unveil ourselves with the a new list of shows with a new originals and set of smoking hot blues and coun try. Dates so far are:
